The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), known as NECC, is one of the largest exhibition complexes in the city and worldwide. It provides 500,000 square metres of exhibition space across indoor halls and outdoor areas.

NECC hosts major trade events including Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics. The 2026 Autumn Edition occupies the complex from 25 to 27 August. The south entrance is at 168 East Yinggang Road.

Confirmed recurring trade fairs

China International Import Expo (CIIE): an annual import exhibition. The 2026 edition runs from 5 to 10 November and uses 16 halls, the West Hall and spaces on both levels.
Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics - Autumn Edition 2026: two editions per year. The Spring Edition runs on 11-13 March; the Autumn Edition on 25-27 August uses nine halls and 240,000 m².
CHIC and Yarn Expo: the fashion and yarn exhibitions accompany the spring and autumn textile sourcing seasons. In August 2026, CHIC uses halls 2.1H, 3H and NH, while Yarn Expo uses 8.2H.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles: the Autumn Edition runs on 18-20 August 2026 in four halls.
CBME China: an annual maternity, baby and child products exhibition, held on 15-17 July 2026 across eight halls.
China International Furniture Fair Shanghai: held on 5-8 September 2026 in six halls, alongside the furniture and woodworking machinery exhibition in 7.1H and 8.1H.
China Composites Expo: held on 1-3 September 2026 in 6.2H, 7.2H and 8.2H.
China International Textile Machinery Exhibition: held on 20-24 November 2026 across seven halls.
Automechanika Shanghai: the 2026 edition is scheduled for 2-5 December and uses fourteen halls.

The calendar shows measurable concentrations in textiles and fashion, imports, automotive, furniture, composites, machinery and child products. Dates and halls come from the official 2026 calendar and may change in future editions.

Location in Shanghai and economic role

NECC stands at the western edge of the Hongqiao International Central Business District core, in Qingpu District, beside East Xujing station on Metro Line 2. It is not in the historic centre or Pudong: it belongs to Shanghai's western corridor linked to Hongqiao railway station and airport.

The complex has 1.47 million m² of floor area and 500,000 m² of exhibition space: 400,000 indoors and 100,000 outdoors. Its 16 halls, more than 6,000 parking spaces, hotel, offices and commercial plaza form trade infrastructure. Invest Shanghai reports that international exhibitions account for more than 80% of events and that Hongqiao develops headquarters, transport, exhibition and trade economies together.

Other Shanghai venues and differences

Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) is in Pudong at 2345 Longyang Road. It has 17 single-level halls, 200,000 m² indoors and 100,000 m² outdoors; it receives more than 100 exhibitions and over four million visitors per year.

NECC has twice SNIEC's indoor exhibition area and is integrated into the Hongqiao intercity hub, allowing it to host exhibitions that occupy nearly the entire complex, such as CIIE. SNIEC is more compact, with column-free ground-level halls, and sits in Pudong's economic district near Metro Lines 2 and 7 and the Maglev.
